Activism Part XII

As long as activism is reserved for special occasions, like marches, or mainly consists of signing and sharing online petitions (which are again prone to echo-chamber type circulation patterns), we won’t ever have the impact we hope for.

If we want real change, we must make ACTivism a part of our everyday life.

1. The most difficult part of being an activist is reigning in your ego, you must train yourself daily to rid yourself of ego.

2. Money will present certain activists the chance of becoming famous and leaders of the cause. Once an activist takes money they are no longer fighting the system. You are here for others future, refuse money for your work.

3. Be patient with people who have sacrificed the cause in the interest of egoism. Remind them why they started in the first place.

4. A true activist does not speak for the people and always works selflessly, for the cause.

5. The corporations have destroyed our environment, the rich have stolen our natural resources, you must let everyone know this.

6. If you feel tired of working for a cause without any results, keep in mind the power of planting the seed. The harsh reality is that many activists will not reap today's work.

7. If you feel like a failure because your friends have better jobs, remember that success/failure are just models of perception. Wealth comes from the heart.

8. You do not work for a cause to be successful, you work for a cause because truth and justice run through your blood.

9. You do not work for a cause to ‘win’, you work because you cannot stand the fact that children starve while billionaires thrive.

10. Negate the philanthropy of the rich, show others the hypocrisy of the rich in hoarding trillions and donating millions, for tax breaks.

11. Always remember that the rich donate money not because they’re nice people but because they fear the people.

12. If a rich person wants to donate to your cause, it's simple. Say no we cannot be bought.

13. Do not let the wealthy and their corporations silence your cause with their filthy money and sponsorship.

14. If you do air donations make sure to be transparent and provide the people with all expenses.

15. Authentic causes are only sponsored by the will of the people.

16. Organizations run into trouble when they need financing, that’s why all members should be volunteers with day time jobs.

17. Avoid vanities in your life and materialistic wants.

18. An activist is a human being, with a singular determination that cannot be broken up by indulgences of want.

19. Your friends call you boring and ‘no fun’, remind them coolly that it is difficult to have fun while billions of children starve. But don't take yourself too seriously or burnout remember to lulz.

20. Be prepared to lose a lot of people in your life, not everyone will embrace your calling.
