As one mobilizes to overpower the other, the average person (and a majority of the hypocrites on each side) are neither truly motivated to the fundamentals of left or right in favor of the basic fundamentals of liberty itself, nor the preservation of any particular way of life as displayed by their lack of propriety within their system of belief.
