Threats Pour in as Presidential Election Ends

Threats Pour in as Presidential Election Ends

Written By ~X~ of TFD

This election cycle has definitely been one for the ages. From it being called the "2016 Presidential Campaign Circus" to the interesting to say the least media coverage.

The real issue comes in when people start making threats to a President or President- Elect. There IS a law against this and many Presidents have made Executive Orders to insure the safety of them while they are in office.

In this election we have witness just how society has "grown". We have witnessed how the "Everybody wins" method in fact is horrible for our society. People just cant take a loss. Lets go down some of the outrageous "threats" made toward the President Elect Donald J Trump, lets start with the new one:

The Hashtag #AssassinateTrump, #NotMyPresident & #KillTrump has boomed over Twitter in the last days since the end of the United States of America exercised the right to Vote. Many Liberals alike are pouring onto social media calling for the assassination of Pres. El. Trump and a disgusting new one #RapeMelania has also surfaced.

Protest have been sparking up in several major US cities over the past six nights bringing in vandalism, riots, violence and defacing of public property in cities like Portland, Oregon and Oakland, California to name a few.

The biggest stage these "protestors" had to voice their grievances was at the voters box, yet the public feels this will change the outcome. **Spoiler Alert** it doesn't at all.

In a report from KGW (NBC Portland),

"KGW compiled a list of the 112 people arrested by the Portland Police Bureau during recent protests. Those names and ages, provided by police, were then compared to state voter logs by Multnomah County Elections officials.
Records show 34 of the protesters arrested didn’t return a ballot for the November 8 election. Thirty-five of the demonstrators taken into custody weren’t registered to vote in Oregon."

So lets put this into perspective shall we? The very people who are "upset" about the results, yet did not even bother to go out and vote YET managed to organize these huge "protest" all over the county? Am I missing something here?

March 28, 2016, park goers at Central Park in Brooklyn look on as a Trump Tombstone was displayed. Later authorities found out who put it there as no charges were imposed.

NFL Quarterback for the San Francisco Colin Kaepernick, has protested against standing for the National Anthem because of the injustice among the black community and constantly not being addressed or heard. Guess what? He did not vote. In a report from US Weekly Magazine, Kaepernick explains why he did not vote:

“I said from the beginning I was against oppression, I was against the system of oppression. I'm not going to show support for that system,” he explained on Sunday. “And to me, the oppressor isn't going to allow you to vote your way out of your oppression."

Nevertheless, regardless of your position or feelings it is illegal to threaten a President, Vice President, President Elect or Vice President Elect.

Cornell Law School shows that there are ramifications to this type of behavior. It is NOT "Freedom of Speech" when you threaten a Government Official, or anyone for that matter. This is covered under 18 U.S. Code § 871 - Threats against President and successors to the Presidency

It reads as follows:
(a)
Whoever knowingly and willfully deposits for conveyance in the mail or for a delivery from any post office or by any letter carrier any letter, paper, writing, print, missive, or document containing any threat to take the life of, to kidnap, or to inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States, the President-elect, the Vice President or other officer next in the order of succession to the office of President of the United States, or the Vice President-elect, or knowingly and willfully otherwise makes any such threat against the President, President-elect, Vice President or other officer next in the order of succession to the office of President, or Vice President-elect, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.
Yes people, it is ridiculous and down right irresponsible. Hollywood actors, actresses and business people such as Matt Harrigan, the now FORMER CEO of PacketSled who went on a binge of violent messages off of his Facebook on Election Night. Soon after, he seemed to come to his senses and put out a formal apology for his action.

Today,  Zachary Benson, of Fairview Park, is charged with making threats against successors to the presidency according to Fox 8 in Cleveland, OH

As stated above, regardless of how you feel about who is President, it is against the law to display such actions and make these senseless threats, especially if you passed on the one chance you had to be heard.

The best protest was at the voters booth.
