Its NOT over yet folks...The Electoral College
By now its safe to assume even if you are not a political buff, you have witnessed our society here in America go through some of the most shameful acceptance (or lack thereof) with in the population. But, this is not over yet folks (in my Obama voice), not by a long shot.
This is why:
The Electoral College (no it is not a actual college). Now to understand this we have to go to these two factors: Popular Vote & Electoral Votes.
First lets get to the obvious and that is the "Popular Vote".
This is the vote count by US, the American people at the voter box.
Definition
"An act of voting by the electorate of a country or area"
Examples of it being used:
‘By 1824 enough states had opened the presidential election process to popular vote that there could be a visible measure of the public's opinion.’
‘the cabinet and parliament must now debate the initiative before it goes to a popular vote’ by definition in the Oxford Living Dictionary
The "popular vote" is know as the "peoples choice".
As of today,11/16/16, the official popular vote count stands as:
Hillary Clinton: 61,782,016 votes (47.89%)
Donald Trump: 60,834,437 votes (47.16%)
according to PBS News Hour AP
But Trump won right? Now this is were the fun begins, the "Electoral Vote". Now to understand the Electoral vote, lets go into what it is.

The United States Electoral College is established by Article Two of the United States Constitution to select the President of the United States and Vice President. Citizens of the United States vote in each state at a general election to choose a slate of "electors" pledged to vote for a party's candidate. The candidates who receive an absolute majority of electoral votes among the states are elected President and Vice President of the United States when the Electoral College vote is certified by Congress.
There are currently a total of 538 electors, corresponding to the 435 Representatives, the 100 Senators, plus three electors for the District of Columbia as provided for in the Twenty-third Amendment. Each state chooses electors amounting to the combined total of its U.S. senators and representatives. The Constitution bars any federal official, elected or appointed, from being an elector.
Now this may confuse some of you so here is a video done wonderfully by CBS 46's Reality Check titled:
Reality Check | A Plan Underway To Choose A "Compromise Candidate"
Long story short people this is far from over. Is it likely this can happen? Yes, for two reasons. One, you cannot ignore the fuss this has shaken so many long time politicians (elites, tyrants, globalist, etc) and just regular people. Two, because it has happened before. Rare, but has happened nevertheless, the are called "Faithless Electors".
Faithless Electors are members of the Electoral College who, for whatever reason, do not vote for their party's designated candidate.
One may ask themselves, has this happened before? The answer is yes. Here are sometimes in history the Electoral Vote has changed the outcome of an election:
1960Republican Harry Irwin ,Oklahoma cast a faithless vote for Virginia Senator Harry Byrd.
1968
North Carolina elector Lloyd Bailey was pledged to Richard Nixon. Instead, he voted for the American Independent Party candidate George Wallace
1972
Virginia elector Roger MacBride was pledged to Republican Richard Nixon. Instead, he voted for Libertarian John Hosper.
1976
Gerald Ford against Jimmy Carter was one of the most famous Electoral influences in the public eye at that stage in politics.
Yes, this is far from over and looking at the behavior, careless, tasteless opinions from media commentators, commentators, media outlets, newspapers and our "representatives" since this election started approximately over a year ago, it would be wise for one to wait until President Elect Trump passes the Electoral College. Eyes open.
Stay Vigilant.
